Today was a lot of fun – I spent some of the afternoon with a friend that lives on my floor who is a photographer – we walked over towards Fort York and she took some pics of me with the Toronto skyline in the background. It was sunny, yet freezing cold every time I had to take off my gloves and sometimes my jacket too for a shot. Luckily I had a hot chocolate to keep me warm! My friend didn’t seem to feel the cold as much, or maybe she was more immersed in capturing the right shots. I was more the cranky model trying to stay warm! While posing for one shot, a dog literally ran into me. Hope we captured that!
I’ve been looking back at some old pics. We took so many cool ones during those magical times at Gosia’s place; she was always playing make-believe, and looking for ways for photos and her art to convey deeper messages. It wasn’t just about how you looked, but what you were trying to say.

It is funny that we all try to be a little bit of this and a little bit of that, when the obvious solution is just to BE YOU. God didn’t make any mistakes in creating you!

What is she trying to say in this one? Maybe that wrapping yourself in too many layers is unnecessary, don’t be afraid to let it all go with the wind, and show people who you really are!
Last night was eventful, I actually went to a club! My friend and I went out for dinner, and then decided to go for a walk in the entertainment district – she ran into a man working the door at a popular club, that she knew from when she used to work in the industry. We mingled and danced, and then went home for some beauty sleep.
While I was getting ready and taking a selfie, I realized I should probably be cleaning this mirror instead! ;-)

As I prepare for the Sahiyo comedy show in March, I’ve been watching comedians for inspiration. I used to love Chelsea Handler, but I have to say that her latest Netflix special (Revolution) is not funny at all! And is she serious about thinking that the sun and the moon were the same thing until age 40?! Actually that is kind of funny now that I’m writing it out.
I’ve noticed that some famous comedians will start out really good, and then later on they become too comfortable in their fame and don’t put out the same quality of stuff later on. Or maybe it’s because they don’t evolve with the times. When I watched some of Dave Chapelle’s special, I thought ‘wow that would really bomb at a Toronto open mic!”
Ok it’s almost 6 PM already… which means the work week is going to come hurtling around the corner at lightning speed. Better go enjoy the remaining hours of freedom!
