I’m so excited! My next comedy show will be at the Annette Studios in the Junction on Thursday Nov 5th. Just as its name implies, it will be a little unhinged, a little wild, and a little sexy with a touch of madness. We’re all a little bit of a mess aren’t we?

I realized that I’ve been writing She’s Come Undone for over 10 years, and now I’m taking it to the stage! The show will feature some of Toronto’s best comedians (and you’ll be there too? my friend Lou would say ;-) and is guaranteed to be a night of fun and forgetting all of your problems.

The show will support A Right to Learn Afghanistan, an amazing organization that is creating opportunities for Afghan girls to continue learning throughout their imprisonment in their own country by the Taliban. It is a heartbreaking situation with few glints of hope, and has remained dire for the last five years. I joined a campaign last year called Black and White for her Right that featured hundreds of women standing in solidarity with the women and girls of Afghanistan.

The bravery of these girls to learn and share their stories despite risks of persecution is beyond anything. May they be supported by the world to secure their freedom.

Today was a rough day but it turned around. I woke up feeling dizzy – some vertigo whenever I’d move too fast. I rested and feel much better now – alive again as the feature photo for this post shows (also an amazing book I’m reading by Michelle Machado). I decided to go outside and get some sun in the early evening, and I’m so glad I did because I ran into friends from my building that were having an outdoor picnic. The only thing better than friends is friends with food!! I had some amazing homemade pav bhaji, stuffed red peppers (vegetarian with beans, mushrooms and rice), lots of fruit, and the most amazing sweet potato and chocolate brownies (made from scratch – no diary and no flour). It was my lucky night!

The group headed out to the Keys Comedy Club to see my friend Noelle perform – normally I would’ve joined but definitely needed to take it easy tonight. Also sometimes when I go to these shows, I’m asked if I want to perform and it becomes much more of an exciting night that I’m prepared for!

Tonight is more about laundry, rest, and maybe some yoga. Hope everyone’s weekend is off to a great start!
